I had no father just a brother
I now would never choose another
I would not choose a father over a brother
When I had a brother that was like no other
When I remember the brother that you were
I wonder who was ever your brother, that you were
When I remember who was there for you it’s just a blur
But I remember all the times that you were there for me
I remember on a bike I was, that you were behind me
You ran aside and steadied me as a father would be
You were there for me as I fell and scrapped my knee
You never yelled at me when I cried just like a baby
You seemed so be proud of me as if I was your trophy
It gave me courage to go on even though that wasn’t like me
We rode those bikes up and down the streets even in the evening
But I remember a storm that was so severe that you laid on me and covered me
The hail that fell, fell on you but not me, the bruises on you were not on me
Now I am older and I am a father to a brother
I wonder if I could have ever been one with out my brother
I called him Tony but his name is now another
With my scrapped knees and all of your cover
I seemed to grow up with no pains like another
And now I know it’s because of my brother
Even though compared to others, you were younger
But I always wonder how a brother, that was like no other
Would have to be a father to his very own brother
