My Christmas message
We have all heard the wonderful Christmas story. I would like to share with you “my Christmas message.
First of all and most of all I would like to speak to all mankind and I would like to say the name “Emanuel.” Emanuel means; God with us. Or God and man united or even God and man sitting at a table together. For some reason, whether true or not, man feels he has been separated from God. I say not so, if he was separated he no longer is. My Christmas message is; “you and God are united.”
It is written “with God all things are possible.” Most people think that that means God can do anything. I don’t think that it means that. I think it means “when you are with God, all things are possible for you.” As it is also written “all things are possible to them that believe.”
I think we can be yoked “together with God.” He does not give us a heavy burden and He will help us carry and remove ours. He says “Come to me and take my yoke all that are heavy laden and I will give you rest!” Yoke means; to be fasted, joined and a coupled. Be coupled to the great Unseen one.
He is not mad at you and you do not have to earn His love. He has given us favor and grace, he loves you as you are. The great Martin Luther said in the fifteen hundreds you don’t have to pay for your sins, you can live by grace and mercy through faith.
To the great religions my Christmas message is; let us live in unity and come together on the things we agree on and accept each other’s differences with grace and mercy. Let us not judge one another and assume our belief is better than another’s.
We should all learn from what is called “the oldest religion” Hinduism, where we get the Dharma, Karma and Yoga. A life lived with “The eternal law” or “The Eternal Way” beyond human origins, a fusion or synthesis. Eternal duties, such as honesty, refraining from injuring living beings, patience, forbearance, self-restraint and compassion.
A lot of attention these days is given to Christians, Muslims and The Jews, my Christmas message to you is, you all serve The God of Abraham.” Focus on what you agree on and not our differences. To the world God may be God. To the religions He may be called a judge. My Christmas message, is that He is our Father.
“The father of Lights in whom there is no shadow of turning” (He will never turn His back on you). Look at this wonderful Earth and all its glory, “look at the lilies of the field” The Father will clothe and care for you even more than these.
To the Atheist or Antagonistic my message is; the universe is on your side. All the power in the universe is meant for good. This unseen power has the energy to create good and has made a home for us on this Earth.
To those that would cause harm, through trafficking drugs and even trafficking in human lives, my Christmas message is; put down your weapons. There is enough on this great planet for everyone. “The earth is full of His Glory.” There is not a scarcity but abundance, more than enough for all. You can have all you want and more and all you have to do to get it is to do no harm and help others get what they want. My message is peace to all and good will to all mankind.
To the one separated from his family or her friends my Christmas message is; Forgive. The best gift you can give is the gift of forGIVEness. Even if they have harmed you it is in your power to forgive them. It is also in your best interest and serves your higher good to forgive them. Mark Twain said it best “Forgiveness is the fragrance that the violet sheds on the heel that has crushed it.”
It is written that we should pray for those that have despitefully used us, love our enemies and do good to those that have harmed us. In doing so we poor hot coals on their heads. Hot coals in the day that that was written are not like the hot coals today in a grill. Hot coals in those days was more of an incense. It was used for prayer and worship. The burning of the incense and the fragrance and smoke rising up represented our prayers and faith rising up to God.
When you send back good instead of evil and love instead of hate and when you forgive you become in God’s class. You become an intercessor, one who stands in the gap of another. You become an arbiter, an advocate to the one who has harmed you. Through your forgiveness you stand between them and judgement and allow them to receive the mercy that you yourself have received, yet did not earn.
The old law was to “forgive and you will be forgiven.” The new law is “forgive as you have been forgiven.” The old law was “love one another as you love yourself”, the new law is “love one another as I have loved you.”
This forgiving spirit also helps you. For you see you are a vessel. The apostle Paul said “you are an earthen vessel, a jar of clay filled with a divine treasure.” The spirit of un-forgiveness not only poisons the other person, it poisons you as well. Call your friend or family member and “be ye reconciled.”
I want to send a Christmas message to the sinner (which is all of us.) To the outcast or the minority. I want to send a message to the one that does not fit into society’s norm. To the one in a strange land. To the stranger. To the one that has been told “you are not worthy, your life style is an abomination.” To the judged and even to the guilty. The prisoner and the down trodden. My message to you is; you are forgiven, you are worthy. My message to you is; “The world is not worthy of you.”
