Your brain reflects
Your Brain Reflects by Robert Mitchell Sr.
Edited by James Barber
Numerous people believe that the Universe or God is in control of what you receive in your life. I believe we obtain what we anticipate. Our brain reflects from others what we see in ourselves. What we ask for, we receive; we knock on doors and they open; additionally we find when we seek. Several years ago, I heard a story that really explains this concept.
“In bygone days, a family headed west in a wagon pulled by horses. Due to many obstacles such as inconsistent weather, the journey became difficult. Some families even faced death. As one family reached their destination, they saw an old farmer tilling his field. They yelled out to him, ‘Hey old farmer, what kind of people live out here?’ He responded with a question, ‘What kind of people were there where you came from?’
The young man, from St Louis proclaimed, ‘Oh they were a horrible lot. We dealt with rotten and cooked politicians, the school systems were in shambles and people who were mean, greedy and selfish. That is why we came out here, to find a better life.’ The old farmer told him, ‘I am sorry to say, that is the kind of people you will find out here.’
As they reached the destination the next day, another young couple saw the same old farmer. They yelled out to him, ‘Hey old farmer, what kind of people are out here?’ He responded with the same question, ‘What kind of people were there where you came from?’
The young man declared, ‘Oh they were a great lot. The politicians worked hard at forging this great new nation and solving its problems. The school systems created new curriculums and introduced new books for the kids. My wife helped create the PTA, parents and teachers worked together. Since she is a teacher, we brought hundreds of books out west to help start a new school system. Our community consisted of friendly, giving and selfless people. We hated to leave them but we felt a strong calling to bring all they gave us and give it to this new territory. That is why we came out here, to create a better life for the West.’ The old farmer told him, ‘I am happy to say, that is the kind of people you will find out here.’â€
We see in others what we see in ourselves. What we are looking for, we find! Do we see greatness in others, even when they make mistakes? If we answer the question with a resounding no, then we do not see our own greatness.
People have various opinions about karma. Some people believe when someone hurts them, karma has visited them. I don’t believe Karma sends us bad stuff. I believe karma only dispatches good! The Earth is full of His Glory. “Every good gift cometh down from the Father of lights, in whom there is no shadow of turning!â€
The no shadow of turning part means, He is not for you one day and against you another. He is not for you when you are doing good and then against you and “turning†His back on you when you are bad or make a mistake. There is not even a shadow of Him turning.
A person may choose to use the terminology of: God, the universe, the earth, the angels, karma or any combination of these terms. Either of these conspires to help you by sending good. The problem exists in our brain. Our brain reflects who we are.
Actually, our brain reflects who we think we are; however, there is a difference between who we really are and who we think we are. Our outward life becomes who we think we are and not necessarily who we really are.
This article is written to introduce people to their true higher self. The brain needs to be transformed into the thinking of who a person really is.
Words need to be transformed into who you really are. Are you tired, weak, sick, frustrated, confused, mad, angry, upset, fed-up, lonely or irritated? Are you strong, whole, full of wisdom, full of love, overflowing in joy, yoked with Him or do you have peace?
Pick your words and thoughts carefully because you will create your outer world when your faith, words, thoughts and actions are all in agreement with each other.
What I mean by “our brain reflects†is that it sees in others what we see in ourselves. It has been said, “You do not attract what you want, you attract what you are.†There is a mystery here. How can we attract wealth, when we are poor? How can we attract joy and peace when we are depressed and anxious? How can we attract what we want when we don’t have it yet?
We have solved he mystery! We already have it! We just don’t know it. This is where we must walk by faith and not by sight (our natural senses). We need to transform our belief system and reprogram our brains to recognize our true higher self.
When we want an apple tree, we don’t plant a peach seed or a pear tree and hope for an apple tree. When we plant an apple seed and when we want an apple tree, we are in agreement with the truth and we will get an apple tree!
We have the seed of God in us! We have the seeds of the fruit of the Spirit in us! Let’s plant them and water them and we will attract what God and the Universe have for us in this life. What a shame if we have all this greatness in us and we don’t allow it to be manifested to the world.
We are like super humans that have amnesia. We can have what we say, think, believe and act on but we settle for … what?
